Incalculable damage to a heritage of world value that goes beyond the interests of the island. The presidency of Arci Caccia Sardinia interprets the thought of the Association and expresses, on behalf of all, the pain for those who see a significant part of the natural heritage and the goods of women and men who have preserved it with their work, attacked today by fires. Our thanks go to the police, the firefighters, the volunteers involved in the extinguishing work.
We urge the state of calamity and institutional solidarity. The Government is now investing resources with the Region, and together with the Municipalities, in support of the population involved in the shortest possible time. Arci Caccia invites the Region to activate a permanent table of "civil collaboration" with those interested, and we among them, to intensify and expand the action of prevention of fires in the countryside, at risk from the heat and, as past experiences have later revealed, for illegal behavior that facilitated them.
Prevention and repression need to be protected in the territories with men, means, modern technologies under the coordination of foresters and voluntary guards of all the associations that, without ideological prejudices, make themselves available and put the love and desire to defend Sardinia instead of partisan interests at the first point (Source: Arch Hunting).
