The association Hunting Fishing Environment and movement "Armieri Sardegna" have decided to contact ISPRA directly after the recent ban imposed on taking of the hare and the Sardinian partridge. The Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research was notified of the recognition of damages caused by this block which has certainly damaged i Sardinian hunters. In the Regional Council there was an intervention on this topic, with the UDC group leader, Gianluigi Rubiu, who also demanded compensation for the hunting world.
According to Rubiu, the suspension of hunting for the two species has been imposed after the official start of the hunting calendar for the 2017-2018 season. The damage is defined as incalculable for the sector, furthermore the compensation should also be reserved for the arms sector, since it has not benefited from its resources due to the lack of hunting. The accusations against the Sardinia Region for this controversial choice, therefore, they continue.
The local authority was targeted for the obvious discrimination against hunters and the unfair decision, given that the Regional Administrative Court it was not challenged before the Council of State. Now the time has come for countermeasures, given the fact that the no to hunting has not been supported by an updated monitoring of the hare and partridge population in the island.
