A little over a week ago there was a meeting of all the hunting associations present in province of Piacenza, a useful appointment to plan the qualification exams for management of ungulates in 2018. The acronyms present were theEnalcaccia, URCA, ANUUMigrators and a problem of no small importance immediately emerged. Indeed, for the moment it is possible to guarantee only two exam sessions for hunting authorization and another for collective wild boar hunting.
The associations said they were ready to collaborate in organizing the exams themselves, sending staff and identifying the candidates, as has already happened in the past. The Department of Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing Territorial Services (STACP) Piacenza, however, reiterated the difficulties and the impossibility of guaranteeing the sessions. The proposal to carry out the exams at the other regional STACPs was not liked, as it was considered penalizing towards farmers (boars e deer are constantly increasing).
The agricultural sector is literally exasperated by the continuous growth of damage caused by wild animals, but if a Piacenza hunter were to take a course and take the qualification exam in another province title equivalence may not be issued. The ANUU Piacenza therefore did not agree with the proposals made, underlining that the hunter is "the only endangered species", given that in 2018 young people will have many difficulties in sustaining the qualification. The disappearance of the shotguns will have serious consequences for the environment, so the hope is that a solution will be found quickly.
