The President of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia, signed today, 28 October, a decree with which, starting from tomorrow morning, 29 October, and for the whole week, hunting and sport fishing on rivers and lakes is prohibited, in relation to the wave of bad weather that began to affect the area. The Provincial Police and the Hunting Guards will exercise maximum surveillance for avoid violations of the arrangement. L'Department of Agriculture is simultaneously informing the hunting associations.
This is the text of the Decree. In consideration of the exceptional meteorological adversities expected on the regional territory in the period 29 October 2018 - 4 November 2018 and for the sake of the safety of Venetian citizens and the protection of wildlife, for the same period of time, the absolute ban on hunting throughout the region. The President decrees:
1. to acknowledge that the premises are an integral and substantial part of this provision;
2. to establish, for the reasons set out in the introduction and during the 2018/2019 hunting season, the temporary ban on hunting throughout the region, in the period 29 October 2018 - 4 November 2018;
3. to instruct the Agri-Environment, Hunting and Fishing Directorate for the execution of this deed;
4. to inform that a judicial appeal may be brought against this provision before the Regional Administrative Court within 60 days of knowledge or, alternatively, extraordinary appeal to the Head of State within 120 days;
5. to acknowledge that this provision does not involve expenditure to be borne by the regional budget;
6. to publish this Decree on Official Bulletin of the Veneto Region.
