Questionable controls
Confusion reigns supreme in Veneto due to the incursions by the Anti-Poaching and Animal Crime Operational Section (SOARD) carried out mainly towards passionate hunters practicing stalking hunting. Numerous reports were issued and numerous seizures were made for the alleged crime of using live decoys that did not meet the legal requirements. Add to this the fact that some supervisory bodies are issuing reports against some hunters while they carry out hunting activities from precarious positions, as explicitly provided for by the art. 20-ter of regional law n. 50/93.
The reports against the hunters
In some cases, reports are issued against hunters because they noted the killed head after killing and bagging, in full compliance with the provisions of the art. 12 paragraph 12-bis of state law no. 157/92 and by DGR n. 1385 of 29 August 2017. This legal uncertainty discourages many hunters from practicing hunting, even if carried out in full compliance with current regulations. In all this confusion, the Veneto Regional Council has been urged by us several times to organize an urgent meeting between the regional managers of all the hunting associations present in Veneto and the regional managers of all the supervisory bodies operating in this region, in order aim of guaranteeing a homogeneous and unequivocal application of the regulations in force throughout the regional territory.
The protection of rights
Despite our repeated requests, no signal has come from the afterlife in which the Veneto Regional Council is holed up, which instead would have the duty to intervene promptly to protect the rights of thousands of enthusiasts who carry out hunting activities in full compliance with the law, having among other things already paid huge government and regional concession taxes, access fees to the Territorial Hunting Areas and Alpine Areas, and the foreseen concession taxes for hunting posts. Veneto regional council: if you're there, hit it up!!! We fear that, in the absence of clarification that restores legal certainty, many hunters will feel abandoned and will decide not to renew their hunting license. Let us avoid, for the moment, making comments on the deafening silence on the part of some managers of the other hunting associations present in Veneto (Sergio Berlato, ACR president – Giulia Sottoriva, CONFAVI president – Umberto Venturini, ACV president – Gianfranco Vezzaro, FCR president) .
