Michele Vittoria Brambilla has long ago decided to propose a new political reality, for the moment not supported by electoral support, as confirmed by merciless polls that from week to week the Tg La7 by Enrico Mentana made public. The former minister spoke in these hours of one of the main objectives, namely the abolition of hunting with a referendum.
In his opinion, the time would be ripe for such a choice, recalling the precedent of 27 years ago. In 1990 there was in fact an abrogative referendum to abolish hunting in our country: 92% voted yes, but the quorum was not reached (still at 43%). According to Brambilla, the Italians would now have another mentality, as well as a greater sensitivity towards animals.
The leader of the Animalist Movement, however, has forgotten that in the ranks of Forza Italia and other coalitions close to her political thought there are many supporters of hunting, a sort of conflict of interest that makes the idea of the referendum stand up in the air. Much will depend on the utterances of Silvio Berlusconi, whose animal rights turn has made many turn up their noses and which for the moment has not yet expressed its thoughts on hunters.
