A social video commentary
The collection of signatures relating to the proposal referendum on the abolition of hunting it was also ignored this year: the President of the Federcaccia Massimo Buconi spoke about it in a social video comment. The number one of the FIDC appeared visibly beaming as he gave an account of the outcome of this initiative which raised eyebrows from the first moment.
Buconi's words
Here's what Buconi said: “It seems to be official given that, observing and scrolling a video released by the referendum committee for the abolition of hunting CADABA, the announcement was made that the 500 thousand signatures had not been reached. We were already aware of this, we have intervened numerous times in recent months to remind you that the deadlines for these collections are not a rubber band, while they were extended by the promoters themselves".
Openness to comparison
The president then added: “This referendum attempt also failed, we are obviously happy about it and we thank the Italian citizens who reflected. FIDC knows well that hunting is still a divisive subject, a source of supporters and strong detractors, but the awareness of Italian society in addressing certain issues is changing. Just address environmental issues such as hunting as if we were at the stadium, they must be addressed according to scientific knowledge. We are here to discuss and discuss, not to cultivate the politics of the forbidden".
