La hunting and Abruzzo hunters they do not deserve the harmful repercussions of wrong regional hunting policy choices. The stubborn re-proposal of forcing, in the drafting of the regional hunting calendars, which always end up with produce frustration and damage to the hunter category, is becoming the cloying constant of the current Regional Council. Our environment and our faunal heritage, cared for and safeguarded by the entire Abruzzo community, are a treasure for our region, known and appreciated in Italy and abroad, which does not deserve to be end up on the pages of newspapers for negative considerations that the judiciary was recently forced to express.
The Arci Caccia Abruzzo after the last bad impression made by the Regional Council with the rejection of the umpteenth hunting calendar expected the resignation of the councilor, to say the least imprudent, who has, in fact, shown little interest in hunting wildlife management and of the environment. L'Arch Hunting points out that nothing concrete has been done to control the damage caused by wildlife, that there are no management plans for any species, plans that are indispensable today, as the European Commissioner for the environment writes, in particular for migratory birds. There are no proposals and / or projects for environmental improvements for the restoration of habitats, nothing is done to enhance game meat and to start the controlled meat chain, a precious resource in terms of quality and in part, an alternative to intensive farming.
ARCI Caccia is available to make its contribution, but is no longer willing to accept these attitudes of total disinterest and abandonment, we do not ask easy and impossible promises but respect and commitment for the rural community, protagonist of the Abruzzo agricultural economy. In the Abruzzo ATCs it is necessary to put an end to propaganda alone. It is time to end a long negative season. In the Teramo ATCs, after the increases in the membership fees, and the failure of the restocking of pheasants and partridges, there is talk of imaginative experiments with the introduction of red-legged partridge, an experiment that apparently does not seem in line with the dictates of the wildlife plan and we do not know if it is shared with the region and Ispra.
We should take an example from ATC Roveto Carseolano which instead reduced the shares of 25%. The Arci Caccia believes that the time of folklore is over and that it is necessary to roll up our sleeves and resume the path of reconstruction of the good of wildlife while respecting the work of farmers.
