Hunting: Statement by Marco Ciarafoni Head of Biodiversity and Faunistic Policies of the Democratic Party.
"The good management of fauna cannot know territorial barriers and even less live on prejudice": says Marco Ciarafoni, head of biodiversity and wildlife policies of the Democratic Party, commenting on a statement issued by animal welfare associations and some environmentalists who have raised an inappropriate alarm on a possible hunting deregulation within protected areas.
"Allowing Italian parks, through the modification of the state law, to equip themselves with the appropriate tools to keep the wildlife heritage of those areas in balance - underlines Marco Ciarafoni - is today one of the objectives that Parliament must set itself to further promote its role and functions. parks and better protect biodiversity ".
“Moreover, we are talking about wildlife management with the binding opinion of Ispra for protected species and certainly not hunting, whose prohibition must be further strengthened in the new law.
It is also the intention of the Democratic Party to further expand Ispra's responsibilities in this area, to guarantee that any intervention should not ignore the indications of the scientific authority. We are ready to discuss and deepen but we must avoid meaningless interpretative forcing ”.
