The start of the new year
Luca De Michelis, regional president of Confagricoltura Liguria, outlined a summary of the much work done by "his" Organization and the prospects for 2024: "We have worked on multiple fronts, always in contact with the institutions, starting from the concrete proposals to deal with the PSA emergency which led us to propose courageous "ideas" which, in overcoming the wildlife emergency, go beyond the of Swine Fever. We also remember the strong support action to obtain the increase in replanting rights in viticulture, which will allow the Ligurian vineyard areas to be expanded.
Big and thorny topics
We must not forget - continues De Michelis - the union 'actions' with proposals brought to the regional council commission on the issue of drought, on the energy issue, linked to the possibility of realizing self-production from renewable sources, on the issue of the unjustified Conai contribution on plastic pots , without forgetting the success achieved in the review of cadastral estimates in the Imperia area". “Taggiasca PGI, promotion of Ligurian products through a media campaign carried out on television in autumn, thirty-two training courses held for over 320 agricultural workers, research projects in floriculture with CREA, the University of Genoa and the main Ligurian research companies – these other themes/objectives achieved, continues the Ligurian president of Confagricoltura - without forgetting the always proactive contribution on large and 'thorny' topics, from the regasification terminal, with the impact on the territory and on agriculture, to the topic of logistics with the opinions on doubling of the Ponente railway; from the courageous proposals for simplification of the new PSR, to the constant defense of the territory and the social role of public green spaces, from the battle over the TARI applied to agritourism up to the signing of agreements for the productive reuse of abandoned forests".
Ligurian Unions
And in the future? “From 1 January, with the unification of the Ligurian Unions into the single Confagricoltura Liguria – concludes De Michelis – we will try to be increasingly a project union, suitable for times, companies and markets that now 'exceed' 4.0. May 2024 truly be the year of consolidation of Ligurian agriculture" (source: Confagricoltura).
