The hunting world represented by Recognized Associations (Italian Federation of Hunting, National Free Hunting Association, Enalcaccia, Arci Ccaccia, ANUUMigratoristi, Italcaccia, Ente Produttori Game) and by the CNCN - National Hunting and Nature Committee, has been engaged in intense activity in recent weeks in support of the sector, primarily towards the Government, the Regions and the parliamentary world, to ask for an active discussion on the critical issues that have affected the hunting exercise, following the issuance of the latest MCPD to fight the pandemic. In addition to this, the Control Room has been intervening for several months to sensitize the senators of the Senate Justice Commission, where the so-called package is under discussion. "Animal Protection", among which there is the Bill number 1078, signed by Sen. Perilli Gianluca (M5S) and others, entitled "Amendments to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Civil Code, as well as other provisions regarding the protection of animals."
The associations of the control room participated, already in October, to a cycle of hearings on animal protection bills at the Senate Justice Commission, during which they highlighted, also delivering in-depth documents, the need to clearly separate and eliminate all implications related to hunting from the provision. In this bill, in fact, numerous cases are envisaged that go in fact to hit heavily but above all not motivated (if not from a dangerously ideological vision) all activities that have to do with animals, including hunting ones, which should not fall within the scope of the provision.
The control room therefore asked the parliamentarians involved in the debate for a total reformulation of the regulatory framework under discussion, which it undoubtedly needs a thorough revision to make it timely, instead of being severely punitive for hunting, a sector that deserves respect and not unjustified harassment.
