Anthony Carrara, Chairman of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, and the number one ofTerritorial hunting area of Sulmona (L'Aquila) have signed an important agreement that formalizes the start of the selection hunt for wild boar in the external protection area of the natural area. It is an experimental agreement and for the moment it has been decided to do it last one year, even if it is a first phase. The novelty, however, is of great importance, both from the hunting and environmental point of view.
In the coming weeks, the protocol will also include the Majella National Park, following the example of other reserves. The Park has recognized the strategic role of hunters, fundamental for the management of protected areas. They will be 300 the shotguns present in the area, in order to ensure the protection of the protected fauna and active vigilance, so as to avoid fires, for example.
The Abruzzo ATC proudly spoke of a new phase of dialogue with the authorities that manage the protected areas. Constructive collaboration is judged to be the right way to achieve the best results. It has already been in Pescasseroli a first training day in which the selecontrollers of the Sagittario Valley were involved, an experience that will be repeated also in the other protected areas, given that the interest shown was very high.
