The Regional and National President Arch Hunting Christian Maffei comments on the two appeals presented by the LAC, highlighting their contradictions and demagogic behavior. This is the complete text: “I read the press release of the Lake regarding the fallow deer control plan in the Region Emilia Romagna, and I think some clarifications are urgently needed. Given that I too would like to have the certainties that Lac has regarding the electoral preferences of the Emilian Romagna hunters, among which, we inform you, the most absolute pluralism of political ideas is in force. I underline that since it is a control plan we cannot speak in any way of favor to the hunters, of which only a small part, duly trained, will be involved.
Instead, it is worth remembering that this type of activity, which I repeat, according to the Law, has nothing to do with hunting. binding opinion of ISPRA; public institution which by its nature is at the service of all and a friend of no one, much less of hunters. It is therefore certain that the numbers of killing, the places, the relationships between the age groups and the methods of carrying out the plan have been evaluated. with scientific rigor and in compliance with the rules of every order and degree. While understanding the ethical reasons that move associations such as Lac, however, I point out that even in the strong protest, coherence and intellectual honesty should never fail.
In fact, on 6 September the Lac appeal against the Emilia Romagna hunting calendar, historically the most balanced and rigorous in Italy, which is based on the slight discrepancies between the text licensed by the Region and the opinion of ISPRA, which in the matter of hunting calendar is mandatory but not binding, therefore the positions of the Institute are so much gospel to take legal action only when he says things you like, except to shoot chain balls against the institutions and fear non-existent electoral favors in case of disagreement. Perhaps if the Region had to plan this intervention, the favor it does to farmers, motorists, managers of protected areas and also to all those species, others, which are expelled and put in difficulty by the overpopulation of fallow deer, certainly not for hunters " .
