Federcaccia Brescia takes the side of the citizens of Lumezzane after the controversy that arose on the pages of some Brescia media, certainly not in the Giornale di Brescia, which identify in Mount Ladino di Lumezzane a free zone for poaching. The allegations come from a well-known animal rights association and have been reported with great prominence: 7 hunters reported for criminal offenses compared to a thousand hunters residing in Lumezzane. Only this data speaks volumes about the seriousness of the writers and of those who have made a great cash. If there are companies that pollute, do all companies pollute? If there are motorists breaking speed limits, are all motorists pirates of the road?
If acts of crime occur, are we in a society in the throes of anarchy? The problem is that we are at the usual, that is, at the end of the so-called “Missions” in the Brescia area and we need to get the numbers back, show that the money, a lot, spent has been well spent and therefore we need to find funding for next year as well. It would be nice to have a serious statistic, an account, of the results obtained over the past 10 years and maybe you would find that illegality is less and less widespread. The illegal collection of the small migratory has drastically reduced and the numbers testify to it, but nevertheless Brescia, its valleys, Lumezzane and the extraordinary Monte Ladino are always in the center of the viewfinder, object of lies and slander.
But unlike the animal rights activists, hunters have changed their mentality and know very well that a criminal sanction for the removal of a protected species is not stupid. They know very well that it takes lawyers, important expenses and that at the time of the renewal of the firearms license the Police Headquarters, applying the law, considers a criminal sanction to be an obstacle to the issue. In Brescia there are more than 20.000 hunters, surely someone breaks the law and as such is sanctioned: but to say that they exist free zone, enclave and other such nonsense is simply not true. On the other hand, it would be nice if the animal rights activists who frequent the mountains of Lumezzane, della Val Trompia, of Valle Sabbia made their own the entrepreneurial spirit of these people, the culture of work, the contempt for effort and sacrifice. Other than enclave….
