Our proposal (also shared by Dr. Secci veterinary expert and wildlife technician, appointed by the Department of Health) was to provide for the opening for further two days, October 18 and 25, with 2 partridges and 2 hares per hunter per day. The data on the animals that can be collected (over 80.000 hares and over 24000 partridges) would have allowed us to open at least two more days (therefore 3 in all), fully respecting the precautionary principle. Consider that from the data of the sampling on day 4, less than 300 hares and less than 500 partridges were killed.
For these reasons, we abstained from the vote. As written in the letter sent a few days ago (which you find published on the Federcaccia Sardegna fb page), in our opinion it is necessary to change approach and constantly monitor the data of hunters who practice this type of hunting and the killing carried out. With this monitoring we believe we can proceed to make the possible withdrawals, according to the thresholds provided for by the censuses. We believe that the time has really come to work on a new law that, among many other things, fully regulates the process relating to the management of the noble sedentary (eg. Census times, qualified subjects, certain resources, withdrawal plans, communications etc. etc.).
We, without any doubt, will continue to protect hunters, always placing ourselves in a constructive critical way (when necessary) aimed at finding solutions that allow all Sardinian hunters to exercise their right and above all a passion of theirs as best as possible. Therefore, also on this occasion, in order to promote transparency regarding the discussion held within the Crf, we will publish the minutes with the interventions made (Davide Bacciu - FIdC Regional President).
