FederFauna on the legal matter that would involve ENPA, "animalopoli or animalistopoli ...".
After the news, circulated only a week ago, of the opening of two lines of investigation by the Public Prosecutor of Grosseto on the accounts and activities of the WWF recovery center in Semproniano, now it is the turn of ENPA, on whose accounts and activity would be investigating the Prosecutor of Genoa. In the first case, there would be the hypothesis of "sale to private zoos of animals placed under judicial protection and reproduction of specimens of rare species in order to sell their puppies", as well as the doubt that "the death of animals that died in the center in these years it has been kept hidden to continue collecting grants from the Ministry ”; in the second case nothing less than the use by the animal rights organization of money, a lot of money, through "other animal welfare associations and foundations, on whose accounts Enpa no longer had any reason to exercise controls", "to pay the installments of a house exclusive on the Red Sea, to settle the bill in hotels in Malta or in Lombard clinics of high dental surgery, specialized in the replanting of the entire dentition - human, non-animal, as well as for scooters, interior renovations, cash withdrawals made with regular frequency, starting, at least, from 2007 ?.
It was 2010 when FederFauna called for the opening of a maxi investigation on the activities (and the money!) Of animal rights activists, already baptized "animalistopoli", following three exposures, prepared by Avv. Massimiliano Bacillieri: one on the management of animals seized by the animal welfare associations entrusted, deposited directly by the Confederation, one deposited by the MEP Sergio Berlato, to denounce the involvement of animal rights activists in the clandestine trafficking of stray dogs from Italy to abroad, and one filed with the Lombard Hunters Association, regarding the economic benefits of the non-profit animal welfare associations in the face of their positions and initiatives that would have very little social utility.
It was that year, according to “Il Giornale”, that Paolo Manzi, Carla Rocchi's predecessor to the national presidency of ENPA, was “convicted of embezzlement for having pocketed € 115 from the association”. To date it seems that there is no connection between the Grosseto and Genoa investigations, at least according to the little information leaked (some news does not find much space in the media, perhaps because when there are animals involved, too often the only bell heard and played is that of someone who has saddled himself with the name of "animalist" and who, behind this name, succeeds in passing any of his actions as in favor of animals. Who knows, for example, why the diligent "brother of the animals "of Striscialanotizia will you have missed these scoops?! ...), what counts however is the message that, finally, begins to pass:" not all the money that reaches the animal rights activists is for the welfare of the animals! "
FederFauna therefore hopes that these surveys are only the beginning, and also hopes for a collective awareness of the fact that even using animals to attract donations or contributions (including the use of photos and videos of them, more or less truthful that they are) is a form of exploitation, and much worse than sacrificing them for food, clothing or entertainment, if implemented by saying that the funds raised are for their exclusive benefit: very often those who accuse others of exploiting animals, it is their first exploiter! ...
