A heartfelt appeal that now comes to us every day from the farmers and ranchers of the East side of the capital. From the meetings with our local representatives, strong concerns emerge especially regarding the considerable delays with which the competent bodies arrange for the assessment of damage to production caused by wildlife, totally out of control. Many hunters are also reporting rising discontent within theTerritorial area of hunting which, again from what we are told, fails to give concrete answers to the many problems of the rural world.
The ATC then lately has also been officially invited by some Circoli Cacciatori of the prenestina area to set up a discussion table with the other AA.VV. of the Board of Directors to discuss any initiatives to be undertaken to oppose the approval of the project for the establishment of the Prenestino-Tiburtino Regional Nature Reserve in the Municipalities of Rome (VIII Municipio, Gallicano nel Lazio, San Gregorio da Sassola). For the past 6 months, FederFauna has requested information and a copy of the accounting results from the president of ATC RM2 for the years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 without receiving any response. The silence of the management bodies of ATC RM2, and especially of the AA.VV. constituting the Board, has contributed to generating and feeding the climate of uncertainty and perplexity.
Given the serious situation, gathering the requests of farmers, breeders and hunters who every day no longer feel represented by the management, we urged the President of the Lazio Region, Hon. Nicola Zingaretti, the regional councilor for agriculture Hon. Enrica Onorati and the president of VII agriculture commission Valerio Novelli, to intervene with extreme urgency towards the ATC and re-establish a climate of effective collaboration and above all administrative transparency. We have also urged the Institutional representatives to follow up on the liquidation of the indemnities due to the owners of the funds for hunting easements and the settlement of compensation for damage to production caused by wildlife.
