Lomellina is a mosaic that offers visitors places rich in history and traditions and spring is undoubtedly the best time to visit it ... the "Treasure Hunt" on April 15, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Pavia and Paviasviluppo, will therefore be an unmissable opportunity to discover the wonders of this area!
There will be several possibilities that will be offered in this fun "Treasure Hunt" to be able to know the history, cultural aspects, traditions, food and wine specialties, arts and crafts of the rural world of Lomellina.
For the occasion, two stages will be made on board two fantastic trains to experience a special day in the open air. For those who love to travel more freely it will be possible to visit all the locations with the support of tourist guides throughout the day from 10,00 to 17,00. Both routes will start from Lomello, where guides in period costumes will not fail to reveal curiosities and legends of the times of the Lombards.
The first “Enogastronomico-cultural” itinerary will have the village of Breme as its second stop, where tastings and tastings based on "La Dolcissima" will be offered, the real De.CO Red Onion which has a millenary tradition in Breme.
The second “historical-naturalistic” route will move, instead, to the Abbey of Acqualunga, crossing the nearby Nature Reserve in search of herons and waders. In Acqualunga visitors will have the opportunity to take a real dip in the past accompanied by figures in period costumes.
In Sartirana Lomellina, on the other hand, in the setting of the old manor, a risotto will be organized in the best Lomellina tradition. The stage of Sartirana will not only see good food as protagonist, with food and wine stands of typical products, but also flag wavers, vintage cars and exhibitions.
Do not miss the visit of the very rich Farmer's Museum of the Frascarolo Castle, where an enviable collection of tools and instruments of the past has been collected and cataloged. Finally, again in Lomello, in the late afternoon visitors will be able to attend an exciting exhibition by the company of archers and those who have collected a "golden seal" at each stage of the route will be offered a nice gift.
