"Italian Hunters, hunting pride calls you to gather numerous", this is the unanimous appeal that the organizing committee makes to the presidents of all hunting associations so that their members participate en masse in the national event of hunting pride in Bergamo on Sunday 18 May. ACL, ANLC, ANUU, Arci Caccia, CPA, CONFAVI, Enalcaccia, Federcaccia and Italcaccia ask for the mobilization of hunters, in order to rediscover a renewed unity aimed at protecting the passion for hunting, the values and traditions that characterize it. The organizing committee is committed to guaranteeing the best welcome and participation in the event which takes on a particular meaning, wanting to give the country a real image and not influenced by the media conditioned by animal-environmentalist anti-hunt thinking. Hunters should be aware that hunting takes place in the allowed period, but must be defended all year round with civil participation and commitment. Many hunters, once the hunting season is over, engage in social work and voluntary work, restoring and cleaning paths, river and streams banks, meadows and woods.
The hunter is the bearer of values and traditions handed down for generations, he wants to be considered and respected for what he represents. The national day of hunting pride will be characterized by civility and fairness. The Italian hunters will parade compact and tidy until the end of the event. The day of hunting pride will have no political purpose and meaning but that of manifesting a single faith: hunting.
Numerous and qualified adhesions arrived, not only from hunters but also from representatives of the category: entrepreneurs, artisans, traders, gunsmiths, ammunition producers, breeders and farmers, a cross-section of civil society, which will be present in Bergamo to testify the link with the hunting passion. To welcome the participants will be the mayor of the city of Bergamo, Franco Tentorio who confirmed his presence.
