Hunters and Hunters: Macerata, a hunter to rescue and rescued a specimen of Barn Owl while training his hunting dog.
The Federcaccia section of Macerata informs that one of its members, while he was training his auxiliary in the Valle district, in the Municipality of Macerata, in a stubble field with a lot of panicastrello, grown spontaneously and abundantly this year, due to the abundant rains, when the dog stopped he found himself in front of a barn owl, imprisoned by the thick vegetation and unable to fly. With calm and patience he was released and was able to return to freedom. The barn owl is a particularly protected species, which however is commonly found in our countryside, it feeds on mice, voles, small birds and frogs. Due to its role in controlling rodent populations, it is very useful for agriculture. It is a nocturnal bird of prey and it is easy to spot it at night, near the roads.
