Hunting and Hunters. The Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan expires at the end of 2015, and the Tuscan councilor for hunting, fishing and agriculture, Marco Remaschi, meets the associations of the sector and the hunters of the province.
The appointment is scheduled for Thursday 3 December (from 21 pm) at the Arci club in via Primo Maggio in Margine Coperta: it is the only public assembly organized in the Pistoia area on the theme of the "future of hunting policies in Tuscany".
Promoted by the municipal administration of Massa Cozzile, the evening will also see the presence of Federica Fratoni, councilor for the environment of the Region, as well as local mayors and administrators. But the real protagonists will be the hunters and hunting associations operating in the Pistoia hunting area 16.
"Throughout the province there are many sensitivities interested in the renewal of the wildlife plan that came into force in 2012, which is part of the regional agricultural and forestry plan - explains the environmental councilor of Massa Cozzile, Massimo Damiani - in the meeting next week we will not speak only of hunting in the strict sense, of ungulates (roe deer, boar, deer, ed), furred game (hares and rabbits, ed) and birds, but also issues relating to the Fucecchio Marshes, environmental protection in general, the damage suffered by agriculture, the prohibitions imposed. Those present will be able to address requests and questions to the councilor Remaschi, bringing to knowledge the concerns and problems encountered in their activities ".
The wildlife and hunting planning regulates the hunting activity and fixes numerous data, such as the agricultural and forest area of the province (84.270 square meters) and that destined for planned hunting (65.103 square meters). It then indicates reserves and protected areas, oases and protection areas, areas of respect for hunting, repopulation and capture, and those where the absolute ban on hunting is in force.
The number of authorized hunters and the type of species to be hunted are listed (a census and monitoring of the animals is carried out with the aim of protecting them and preventing faunal "imbalances"), in addition to the guidelines for compensation and compensation for farmers who suffer damage to their crops, and for the protection and restoration of natural habitats.
There are terms and conditions, and the hunting calendar to be respected. A set of criteria and guidelines that define the subject at regional and provincial level. And which interest a large number of enthusiasts who hunt between the Fucecchio Marshes and our woods.
