Hunting and Fauna: Macerata, Coldiretti to counter the wild boar emergency proposes that farmers can defend themselves from wild boars by cutting them down within their land.
In Macerata, during a meeting organized by Coldiretti with the mayors of the territory, the presidents of the mountain communities and the representatives of the Prefecture, he once again denounced the problem of damage caused by wild animals to agriculture; Coldiretti asks for help from local administrations by proposing the authorization for farmers to capture or kill wild boars on their farms.
Furthermore, among Coldiretti's proposals to solve the problem, that of one rotation of teams of wild boar hunting in order to avoid that the territory continues to be an open-air farming as well as the proposal of extend the selection activity to Parks and Oases. For Coldiretti, any actions taken should have a temporary duration, thus ending once the state of emergency has passed and equally for any actions taken by the territorial hunting areas.
The president of Coldiretti Macerata, Francesco Fucili, speaking on the issue wanted to underline “In recent years, politics has proved unable to cope with the situation and agricultural businesses continue to see their land devastated, with loss of production and market space. Hence our request to the first citizens and administrators to support our proposals so that the Province gives the green light to an extraordinary plan for the slaughter of wild boars ”.
The director Assuero Zampini then added, “With the farmers of the territory now exasperated and ready for demonstrative action, a path of modification of regulations and laws is not feasible.
