Hunting and Regulations: CPA announces, following a clarification by the Ministry of the Interior, that the Voluntary Hunting Guards do not have the powers of the Judicial Police.
It was news a few days ago that the Ministry of the Interior - at the request of a solicitation - definitively clarified that - all the voluntary hunting surveillance guards belonging to or belonging to zoological and environmental associations - DO NOT HAVE JUDICIAL POLICE POWERS - The Ministry of Interni also specifies that said voluntary hunting surveillance guards are required to observe the coordination of the local police or judicial police bodies. Therefore they cannot carry out seizure and search operations within the scope of their functions. Hunters are invited to report any alleged abuses to their associations (or even to the CPA Sport editorial staff, which will remain anonymous). In fact, we know that strange and intimidating things have often happened towards hunters and almost always (it will be a coincidence) for now of voluntary hunting guards belonging to environmental or animal welfare associations.
Well this news clears the field of any doubt. These voluntary controllers of the hunting activity can exercise their function but remaining within certain limits and without acting in an intimidating manner. Only the State Police, the Carabinieri, the Forest Guard, the Guardia di Finanza, the Provincial Police and the Local Police (in most municipalities) have judicial police powers.
