Hunting: Bolzano, 133 new hunters enabled, including 12 hunters, certificates delivered by President Durnwalder.
The certificates of qualification to practice hunting were delivered today (June 5) at Palazzo Widmann by President Luis Durnwalder to 133 new hunters, including 12 women. This session of the exams for the achievement of the certificate of qualification to practice hunting confirmed the complexity of the test both from a theoretical and a practical point of view. In fact, compared to 336 candidates who presented themselves to take the shooting and oral tests, only 133 achieved the certificate equal to 39,58% of the total. The women who passed the exam are 12 compared to 43 candidates, therefore with a passing rate of 27,91%. In his traditional speech, the President of the Province, Luis Durnwalder, underlined the need for the exam to maintain its selective level in order to guarantee among new hunters an adequate knowledge of hunting in all its aspects, both sporting and of environmental protection. An important role of the hunter also concerns the protection of traditions, customs and habits typical of hunting in our territory.
Congratulating the new hunters, Durnwalder underlined the importance of adequate training for those who dedicate themselves to hunting: "As game administrators", the president said, "hunters have a public function, which requires a suitable knowledge of hunting weapons, fauna to hunt, nature and the environment ".
As an expert hunter, then, Durnwalder advised the young generation to cultivate good relations with hunting companions and hunting traditions, dedicating himself not only to the pleasure of hunting but also to the protection of game. Durnwalder also took the opportunity to thank the members of the Examining Commission for the qualification to practice hunting, chaired by the Director of the Hunting and Fishing Office, Heinrich Erhard, for the activity carried out.
