Enrico Marchesini, president of the Morbegno Alpine Hunting Area (province of Sondrio), illustrated the results of the hunting ungulates achieved in 2017. The hunting activity went pretty well, as well as the innovations introduced in recent months, in particular the single control point for ungulates. The hunters themselves were asked to express their opinion on the past year and on the future perspectives, so on what will happen in 2018.
The location for the single point was granted by the Comunità Montana for a total of six years, without forgetting the stable of the old structure intended for animal husbandry. The mayors of the district have been made aware of this and for the moment the positive responses have been 15, in the hope that they will increase over the next few weeks. The Morbegno district itself then organized the working days in which it is necessary to take care of the territory, a moment that involves many hunters in environmental improvement.
Animal censuses have begun and these numbers will be used to draw up the new abatement plans. In 2017, respectable results were achieved, with 90% of the expected culls of deer, 72% for roe deer and even 99% for chamois. In the territory of the Colmen of Daziofinally, the total outings of hunters from 18 October to 7 December were nine.
