Time to take stock for the Alpine Hunting Area of the Seriana Valley. The meeting of the members of the Ca led by Francesco Bassanelli was held in the Le Fucine room of the Blue Cross in Gromo, in the presence of 70 shareholders. Many ideas for a small management committee, very busy in recent seasons to change its look both in terms of structures and mentality: the past season will remain impressed as that of the great inauguration of the new headquarters in Gromo. "We have completed the conference room with the installation of the projector - in Bassanelli's words -: this room can hold 40 people, has hosted the meetings of the sub-assemblies and is currently used for training course to hunt ungulates organized by the Uncza Prealpi Orobie and Fidc Bergamo club for a duration of 17 evenings plus two Saturdays from February to April.
The Verification Center was completed before the opening of the hunt, on August 15th in all its parts and to date it is the first and only "Rest center" duly registered in the province of Bergamo. To make it more usable to hunters, we asked for the collaboration of the Blue Cross of Gromo, by registering the personal data and the time of collection and return of the key from the verification center on a special register. Only in this way was it possible to take the slaughtered animals to the cell in the morning or afternoon, when the secretary was not present on site, avoiding keeping the head down in the heat for hours, then having to wait for 19, the time when the center opens for the verification of the culled garments by the appropriate employees on duty ". The same testing center was used by the hunters of the typical Alpine for the verification and control of the slaughtered animals. “This year thanks to the availability of dr.
Gian Danilo Frosio - continued Bassanelli -, samples of feathers were taken, which will be used to carry out an investigation on the genetics of alpine galliformes extended to the entire Italian side of the Alps, studies that will be carried out by theScientific Academy of San Michele all'Adige in Trento by dr. Artuso ". Last season there was a drop of 14 members. The sms service was also activated for the communication of the outputs to the ungulates, then also used to report the go out to the fox which lasted until the end of January after the regional resolution was passed. Last hunting season saw the harvesting of 6 out of 8 authorized mouflons, 75% as in 2017. For the cervo 24 out of 34 (70%), while in 2017 it reached 88%, a reason to be sought in the changes to the hunting calendar.
For roe deer 35 out of 51 (70%) while in 2017 it reached 77%. For the chamois the sampling plan reached 86% with 48 out of 56 animals, while in 2017 it reached 82%. For the typical alpine on the second day the hunt has already been closed to the rock partridge with 21; the black grouse arrived at 8 on a floor of 10. For the hare, 102 were taken, and 5 foxes on an approved floor of 100 approved. It was not a great season for the sheds even in the Seriana Valley: the pace of woodcocks was good in terms of number of appearances and length of pace thanks also to the mild temperatures until the end of December.
