The update meeting between all the different ones took place as scheduled on Friday last week stakeholders involved in the process of reviewing the Key concepts species song thrush, redwing, cesena, woodcock and teal. At the meeting, all the Regions present and the three connected by videoconference expressed their clear desire to place the KCs in February (first decade) for all five species, in order not to introduce problems on hunting calendars, and to maintain the closing date of the withdrawal as of January 31st as a balanced choice that has now been valid for 26 years.
Also present this time for the Italian Federation of Hunting Michele Sorrenti, Daniel Tramontana and Valter Trocchi. For ANLC there were Alessandro Cannas and Avv. Enzo Trotta. Dr. Sorrenti exhibited various observations on the ISPRA positions, accompanying them with illustrative slides that have highlighted the conclusions of various scientific works, both Italian and foreign, which testify to the correctness of the AAVV's proposals. ISPRA remained anchored to its positions, which unfortunately are not the result of experimental work, but of data interpretations. The Ministry of Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies, present with the official Stefano D'Ambrosi, also shared the position of the Regions.
At the end of the meeting it was stated that the final draft of the document resulting from the works will be circulated among the participants before being sent to the European Commission. We hope that the evidence presented by the researchers of the hunting associations and the common position expressed by the Regions and the Ministry of Agricultural Policies will convince the Ministry of the Environment, which will have the last word on the matter, to accept the equilibrium solution expressed, which would avoid leading to an unjustified reduction in collection times and would exacerbate disputes between state bodies.
