Following the various suspensions of the Veneto Regional Administrative Court on hunting in derogation in the region, CONFAVI responds in kind to the MEP Andrea Zanoni, and to the LAC asking for damages for the deprivation of the right to benefit from the hunting regime in derogation.
The Associazione Cacciatori Veneti-CONFAVI has given a mandate to its lawyers to sue Andrea Zanoni and the League for the Abolition of Hunting, asking for compensation for material and moral damages for the suspension of hunting in derogation which deprived the hunters of the Veneto of the right to take advantage of the derogation regime explicitly provided for by the Community Directive 147/2009, by the state law 221/2002 and by the regional law 13/2002.
We consider it unacceptable that, taking advantage of the suspensions granted by the TAR and the Council of State, hunters are penalized by depriving them of the right to go hunting in the best period, only to give them reason with the pronouncement of merit when the season is now irremediably compromised.
This mischief of animal-environmentalists must end once and for all if we want to give certainties to honest citizens with a perfectly clean criminal record who ask to be able to hunt in full compliance with current regulations.
We ask all hunting associations to join this initiative and to combine their energies to prevent the unpleasant situation that occurred this year in Veneto from happening again in the future.
We will also bring this request to the Association for the Defense and Promotion of Rural Culture-Onlus of which we are part, in order to join forces not only among the representatives of the hunting world but also among all the realities carrying rural Culture to fight and defeat common enemies.
