Hunting: Perugia, balance of the opening of the new Hunting Season, between checks and sanctions by the Provincial Police.
About 350 checks, 9 high reports for violations over distances from homes and administrative offenses. At the start of this first Sunday of the opening of the 2013-2014 hunting season, there were also calls to the operations center of the Provincial Police of Perugia, to report any dangerous situations, requests for intervention and verification of compliance with the rules. I inform the Deputy Commander of the Provincial Police of Perugia, Dario Mosconi, who underlines the work carried out without stopping by the over 35 patrols located throughout the territory and by the agents of the operations center, set up by the body, to give immediate and timely responses. to citizens and hunters who will be able, throughout the hunting season and beyond, to report to no. 075/32111. "Over 35 patrols are involved - added Mosconi - operating on different shifts, starting on Saturday". Furthermore, starting from the last hunting season, the agents of the "provincial", the first initiative of its kind in Italy, were able to make use of the precious work of "sentinels of the environment", of the members of the hunting associations of the territory (almost all of the approximately 21 thousand hunters) with which the Province of Perugia has signed a singular agreement. In fact, this agreement gives rise to the novelty of the implementation of the double role "hunter - sentinel of the environment" aimed at the protection and enhancement of the environment and the protection of its ecosystem.
Among the "shotguns" ready at the start of the first day of the official opening of the hunting season also the President of the Province of Perugia, Marco Vinicio Guasticchi, who, together with two council colleagues, the councilors Domenico Caprini and Domenico De Marinis (in the photo with the inseparable, “sidecar Ural 650”, military model) allowed himself a few hours of relaxation in the woods of the Umbrian high Tiber. "More than a hunting trip - said Guasticchi - it was in fact a walk in the open air in the name of friendship and passion for traditions, with an eye always watchful of the territory, in this period of rare beauty ".
"That of the hunter is a role that is sometimes denigrated, while it is right to re-evaluate it as a bearer of intense and positive values such as the safeguarding of the agro-forestry-pastoral territory, the knowledge of the faunal values of our territories, the direct contact with nature, the need to preserve environmental resources and biodiversity ". "This positive spirit certainly does not make us forget the problems that the hunting world is going through - concluded Marco Vinicio Guasticchi - among all, for example, the scarcity of sedentary game, so much so that we are aware, as enthusiasts and administrators, of the need to implement new initiatives to face the growing challenges in the hunting field and consolidate and enrich the unavailable heritage of the state represented by wildlife. "
"The Province is committed to a modern and dynamic interpretation of the hunting subject and is convinced of the importance of a participatory vision, in a continuous dialogue with the Region, with the ATCs, the hunting associations, the individual hunters, the agricultural associations, environmentalists, farmers.
