Hunting in Umbria: with a new ordinance, the TAR of Umbria suspends the regional hunting calendar in the parts concerning the hunting of the Moretta and the Hare.
The session of the hunting faunal council took place today, to which the Provinces of Perugia and Terni also belong, in addition to hunting, agricultural and environmental associations; during the meeting, the regional councilor for hunting, Fernanda Cecchini, announced the immediate suspension of hunting for Moretta and to the Hare until the date to be established in the next session of the Regional Council on 23 October.
The suspension was foreseen in an order of the TAR of Umbria following the specific request contextual to the appeal presented by the environmentalists of the Association of victims of hunting against the Hunting Calendar.
On the matter, the commissioner Cecchini explained, "We must implement the immediate enforceability of the TAR order, without prejudice to the right of the Region to appeal against the provision".
Finally, Cecchini concluded, “As for the stop to the hunting of the Lepre, on October 23 it will be the responsibility of the Regional Council, once the date has been established, to give it the widest possible dissemination ".
