Mark Grimaldi, parent company of the Italian Left in Regional Council of Piedmont, is seeking more and more supporters for an amendment that could lead to the hunting ban on Sundays. The Regional Councilor for Agriculture, Giorgio Ferrero, spoke of too strong a measure, while the majority who support the governor Sergio Chiamparino are in favor and against.
The most optimistic are aiming for an alliance capable of increasing the decisive votes, but for the moment it seems difficult to reach 25, that is the number necessary to guarantee the majority. Tomorrow, Tuesday 21 November 2017, there will be a meeting for deepen the topic, despite the rejection already collected by the amendment and the lack of a quorum. Those in favor of banning Sunday hunting are some advisers from the Democratic Party, SEL, Movimento Libero Indipendente and Movimento 5 Stelle.
The hunting associations immediately responded to this perspective. Federcaccia recalled the three million taxes paid each year by hunters, in addition to the 400 euros of authorizations. Furthermore, according to FIDC, such a ban could be interpreted as a hateful spite. The proposal will be examined in the classroom in January, so the next few weeks will be decisive for consolidating the choices.
