Mr Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of Lombardy (Fratelli d'Italia), analyzed an interesting statistic from a hunting point of view concerning a country very close to ours: "Today I'll take a few lines to talk about us women hunters, because I have read good news and I want to share it with you. In the small canton of Grisonsin Switzerland, the number of women applying for a license is growing: if ten years ago there were 149, today they are more than 250. A small drop in the bucket, but it made my day more sunny. We cannot hide the fact that we are few, a small minority, in the hunting family.
But we are full of pride in what we do, we are full of passion and the desire to go out in our woods and in our mountains. We are few but we are strong and determined. We have collected the legacy of our grandparents and have made something big and important in our life with it. It is not a competition, I want to specify it. My closest hunting friends are males and I have always felt their respect and closeness.
I respect them and they respect me; we share the same traditions as brothers. But today leave me ten minutes of joy and satisfaction in reading that there are places where the huntresses increase. I hope I can say the same thing aboutItaly, one day, and I hope to meet on my path more and more sisters of the hunting family ”.
