THETerritorial hunting area of Taranto promoted a qualification course to become a collective wild boar hunter (hunted and turned) and foremen for the collective hunting of the same ungulates. The first lessons will begin on Monday 16 October 2017, to be precise from 16 am to 20 pm, and will focus on the biology of the wild and its morphology, as well as social behavior and population structure.
The next day there will be a 'practical exercise to understand all the characteristics of wild boars, from the dental table to age. In addition, the differences between hunting and control, the ISPRA guidelines, the duties of the ATCs and the game plan for hunting. Monday 23 October will be the turn of the lessons focused on biotic density, the definition of withdrawal plans, the characteristics of hunted and turned and the organizations of hunting teams. There will be references to dogs and tracking, without forgetting hunting ethics.
Other lessons are scheduled on 24 and 31 October. Among the other topics to be studied with the teachers of the course, we can mention i tasks of the foreman, the correct management of the hunting area, the involvement of the team in the management of the wild boar, the internal, external and terminal ballistics, the characteristics of the smooth-bore and rifled-bore weapons, semi-automatic and manual repeater weapons. A final exam with multiple choice quiz will be used to guarantee qualifications.
