Il Lazio Regional Administrative Court examined the case of a hunter whose license was suspended in 2008 following the end of one wild boar hunting trip in the campaigns of Nepi, in the province of Viterbo. The Carabinieri had surprised the man, in possession of a regular rifle port and in the company of four people, while he was taking possession of a recently killed wild boar and without authorization.
The suspension took place a few months later, following the decision of the Police Headquarters, even if the hunter had defended himself, claiming he had never been to the estate and not even went hunting in those days. For this reason, the man turned to the TAR and the judges carefully evaluated the matter. As established by the Court, the Carabinieri had not identified a responsibility by this hunter in the exercise of hunting in a hunting estate without any authorization.
In addition, no investigation was done by the administration, so better ascertain the dynamics. As a result, the appeal was found to be well founded and the man returned to possession of his rifle port license.
