The long-awaited meteorological change has arrived: farmers were waiting for it, but also citizens, afterwards an August totally devoid of rainfall. As mentioned byANUUMigrators in the traditional notes on the migration step, these temperatures affected the displacements, taken lightly and with catches lower than the monthly total of previous years. We are obviously talking about the period that is monitored by the FEIN Bird Observatory in Arosio (Como).
Just last week there was the ringing of the first song thrush in post-nuptial migration in 2017, to be precise on a date considered normal. Together with this bird they presented themselves the first blackcaps, accompanied by the first robins. As for the black nannies, the best catches were recorded on 25 and 30 August (currently the movement is defined as more than discrete), while for the prispoloni, the main dates were 31 August and 4 September. Specifically, the other species of the summer season the big luì, beccafico, black redstart, flycatcher, stiff neck, oriole and reedbill, appeared on a regular basis, but not as consistently as in recent years. ANUU is confident about theevolution of the moon and the general start of the migration in the last week of September.
