As disclosed by the Hunting Federation, in the long and cordial conversation with the Ambassador of Romania, who is also a passionate hunter, various topics were touched upon, including that of the new CAP and its development potential but also the risks of loss of quality and environmental variety in a country like Romania that also thanks to the maintenance of sustainable and less impactful agricultural practices, for example, those applied in many other European countries, including Italy, are able to offer a high level of biodiversity.
As part of an in-depth knowledge of Romanian habitats and different wild species, Federcaccia explained to the Ambassador the development of possible projects for the study of migratory species of great interest, such as the woodcock, or enhancement from the dog point of view of areas particularly suited for the characteristics of the land and the quality of the species hosted, also envisaging a greater involvement of Romania in the world championships of dog lovers. The meeting was born from a twinning signed a few months ago between Regional Federcaccia Puglia and the Comja Seini hunting association, Maramures, Romania - represented at the meeting by Mr.Nicolas Pop and the forestry engineer Romolus Simon - in order to carry on the themes of mutual collaboration in the field of environmental protection, scientific studies, training of the hunter according to the principles of ethics and sustainability.
The proposals aroused the interest of the Ambassador, who wished the meeting would represent the beginning of a constructive dialogue that contributes to mutual understanding. “Knowledge - emphasized Bologan, a convinced pro-European - helps us to overcome stereotypes and prejudices. Faced with generalized divisions and fragmentation, the only viable alternative is to learn to live together, discover the positive ways offered by political, economic, cultural and social collaboration ”.
