“Allocating 1 million euros for the fight against otters is a fundamental step that the Region takes for the control and eradication of this invasive species. These funds will come thanks to an amendment of mine approved today in the budget and for this I must thank the majority who supported me.
Thanks to the Lega, Forza Italia and the other colleagues of the center-right who immediately understood how important this step was. With the funds, trapping cages will be purchased and distributed and the organization, collection and disposal of carcasses will be intensified.
To this will be added, I hope in a short time, the approval of my draft law in the Region which intends to streamline the bureaucracy precisely for the eradication of otters. Once the funding has been obtained and the bureaucratic delays have been resolved, I hope that the will to work head-on on this problem comes from the territories, which is bringing farmers to their knees and creating serious problems for roads, countryside and cities. The fact that today the majority has been united on this objective pushes me to work with even more determination on the nutrie problem ”.
