Mr Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of Lombardy (Brothers of Italy), commented on what is being done in the field of wild boars and swine fever: "The Ministry of Ecological Transition it has prepared a draft interministerial decree that seems to finally go in the right direction. These are: extension of the wild boar hunting period and the possibility for the Regions to carry out control and selection plans in protected areas. These are the two main ones amendments to article 19 of law 157 of 1992 (which I post below) provided by the draft that Undersecretary Vannia Gava, delegated by Minister Roberto Cingolani, illustrated in recent days to all the regional councilors for Agriculture.
The decree was approved by the Agricultural Policy Commission and must now pass to the Houses to become law. The text provides for two months of hunting more, for a total of five months (October - February or November - March), while the figures authorized by law (Weapon of the carabinieri, forestry corps, local police, landowners and landowners with hunting license and persons qualified for selective plans) will also be able to act in areas considered protected. We are monitoring the legislative process and we hope that everything will proceed in this direction ".
