La closure of the hunt in the Lazio part of National Park of Abruzzo continues to discuss. The Council of State accepted the appeal of the National Animal Protection Authority (ENPA), the League for the Abolition of Hunting (LAC), the Anti-Vivisection League (LAV) and WWF. In practice, the judges have again blocked the hunting activity in the area bordering the park itself, amending the sentence of the Lazio Regional Administrative Court.
The mayor of the municipality of picinisco (province of Frosinone), Marco Scappaticci, did not willingly accept the decision, speaking of "yet another blow to the heart against the mountain communities". The same municipality has addressed the issue with eight other municipalities, in particular Settefrati, Campoli, Appennino and Vallerotonda. Picinisco wants to ask for damages and the mayor Scappaticci has invited his "colleagues" to do the same.
Finally, an appeal was made to Nicola Zingaretti, governor of Lazio: a table must be convened as soon as possible to find the appropriate solution. Riccardo Frattaroli, mayor of Settefrati, has instead stigmatized the environmental attacks which take no account of the reality of the territory.
