Accident of… poaching in Perugia. From a first reconstruction of the Carabinieri of the Todi Station, who intervened at the scene of the accident last Tuesday at about 22 pm, it emerged that the man, a 63-year-old resident in the area, was hunting in prohibited hours for thehunting activity in the woods of Moriano, in the locality of Giano dell'Umbria; after slipping the man lost his balance causing an accidental shot to explode to the rifle he was holding and thus injuring himself in the abdomen.
The man was initially by a friend and subsequently by 118 personnel who intervened on the spot after being alerted by the poacher's friend who, however, declared that he was not with the friend at the time of the accident; in fact, the poacher seems to have left his car in front of his friend's house and then entered the wood.
According to what was declared, the friend of the poacher heard the shot and, worried, reached the latter, finding him on the ground and rescuing him until the arrival of the ambulance which, after first aid, proceeded to transport the injured person to the Emergency Department of the Foligno hospital.
The poacher was subjected to surgery after which he was hospitalized with a reserved prognosis but it seems that he is not in danger of life. From the investigations carried out by the Carabinieri, the man involved in the accident appeared to be in possession of a regular Port of Arms, Hunting License.
The dynamics of the accident emerge from what was told by the victim himself and by his friend, but it is still to be ascertained from the investigations carried out by the Carabinieri; the man will also be sanctioned for violations of hunting regulations.
