Poaching: poaching wild boar causes one death and one wounded in the woods of the province of Livorno.
Last night in the woods of Cecina, in the province of Livorno, a man died and another was injured by shots fired by a third accomplice during a boar poaching. According to an initial reconstruction carried out by the Carabinieri of Volterra (PI) engaged in the investigations, one of the three poachers, a 28-year-old young man accidentally shot his 48-year-old father-in-law, killing him, and wounded a third 45-year-old hunter in the leg, who luckily it wouldn't be life threatening.
The three poachers, son-in-law, father-in-law and a friend of theirs, all from Riparbella (PI), allegedly coordinated badly during the boar poaching; in fact the young man, in an attempt to shoot down a wild boar, fired his own 12-gauge shotgun loaded with broken-ball cartridges, not taking into account that the other two accomplices were on the firing line.
At the time of the shot, therefore, the balls of the fired cartridges would have hit the hunting companions but while the friend was injured in the knee, the young man's father-in-law was instead hit in the face and in the side and one of the balls would have directly reached the heart, killing him. .
Immediate call to 118 and the subsequent arrival on the spot with the car lecturers of Cecina and Bibbona with a doctor on board and the Carabinieri of the Volterra station. Despite the immediate help, it was not possible to save the 48-year-old man while the other accomplice injured in the knee after being medicated in the hospital was discharged. Poachers were found in possession of night vision goggles and torches; the 28-year-old is currently accused of manslaughter and poaching.
