THEterrorism alert it certainly should not be underestimated, but the decisions of the European Union have ended up penalizing subjects who have nothing to do with how hunters and collectors. As reported by Eunews, EU Parliament it is now trying to smooth out the criticisms that have come from gun collectors themselves, from hunters and shooters themselves, given that the new EU directive on the subject has never convinced. Brussels has decided to propose changes, voted in favor in Internal Market Commission.
As explained by Vicky Ford, number one of this Commission, the goal was to allow citizens to continue in theirs sports activities (volley shooting first) and to carry out hunting activities. The text provides that in each member state the use of semi-automatic weapons to those who prove to be part of one recognized sports organization. In addition, other exceptional measures will be reserved for military reservists, museums and collectors.
The controls will however remain stringent. The changes of the European Parliament are soon said. There category A, that which includes weapons for civil use, hunting or sporting weapons, has been substantially reduced. Holders may be subjected to medical and psychiatric tests before receiving authorization to possess, with certificates valid for five years.
