In Regional Council of Liguria the increase of ungulates in the Park of the Monte di Portofino. The question was presented by Augusto Sartori, exponent of Fratelli d'Italia, who asked for urgent actions for the management of wildlife. This presence should certainly not be underestimated according to Sartori, especially in the municipalities of the Genoese area, without forgetting the urban area.
The councilor explained the situation in its entirety: “The Regional Councilor for Agriculture Stefano Mai illustrated in detail the initiatives taken by the Region, with the related funding, including compensation for damages, the Regional Regulation for wild boar hunting in collective form, funds for farmers to install electrified and metal fences, the creation of the environmental wildlife surveillance unit and, among other interventions, the agreement with the Municipality of Rapallo to try, through the local police, to stem the proliferation of ungulates in the center urban.
Never remembered that the current hunting law dates back to 1992 and, as such, it is not adequate to address the phenomenon. Liguria was the only Region in which the rule was challenged by the Government twice which provided for an ad hoc training of hunters which, therefore, we can no longer use today ”.
