As for the turtledove, theFaunistic and Agro-Environmental Studies and Research Office of FedercacciaIn partnership with ACMA, continues the investigation undertaken last year with the pochard wings collection. From this year it is easier to make your contribution. As is known, the pochard species is the subject of a request for a ban on hunting by the Ministry of the Environment; however in some regions the species is huntable also in this hunting season and for this we turn to duck hunters to ask them to help us get a good sample of wings.
From this year to contribute to the research and therefore to the defense of this form of hunting is even simpler: it is in fact possible to send the photographs of the killed subjects by following the simple steps illustrated in the video that you can see at the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iik1tor0PBA&feature=youtu.be and the instructions below. Sending by photograph - Take a picture of each specimen and send it to the email: [email protected]. Each photograph must contain only one copy accompanied by your name and surname and the indication of the date and province of killing.
Attention: the photo must be taken paying attention to see the whole specimen with a wide open wing. Sending the wings by post - Detach only one wing for each specimen, keeping the scapular coverts, dry the wing with a little salt on the part with meat residues and place it in a paper bag (NO PLASTIC), with the data of the detector, the date and place of killing, as well as indication of the sex if it can be determined. The wings must be sent to: Italian Federation of Hunting - Faunistic and Agro-Environmental Studies and Research Office - Via Salaria, 298 / A - 00199 ROME. For any doubt or clarification, contact the Studies and Research Office on 06 844094.204 / 207 or by e-mail at the address [email protected]. Thanks to all who will provide photos and wings for hunting conservation of this species.
