The map of the two regions shows the definitive data on African swine fever, consolidated as of January 26, 2022, of the collection and analysis campaign on carcasses of wild boars recovered dead. On the map, the colored points indicate the place where the animal was found and the result of the analysis. The points in red indicate the items in which the disease has been confirmed, those in blue the leaders who tested negative in analytical investigations.
The red line delimits i 114 municipalities that have currently been included in a so-called "infected" area while the orange line delimits an external observation area (buffer) which includes municipalities within a further 10 km radius. In total, examinations were conducted on 139 carcasses: 101 found in Piedmont, 38 in Liguria. 25 positive cases were found: 14 in Piedmont, 11 in Liguria.
