Il coordination of Calabrian hunting associations (Federcaccia, Libera Caccia, Enalcaccia, Arci Caccia, ANUUMigratoristi, Italcaccia and Ente Produttori Game) responded to the governor of the Region, Mario Oliverio, after the announcement of the preparation of the new law. The local authority is ready to discuss with the hunters for define the final text. The president's attitude was liked, also because the confrontation has been expected for four years e hunting themes can no longer wait.
The answers given to the associations in these 48 months have been incomplete and the problems have not been dealt with in an organic way, as happened for example with the regulation on wild boar hunting. The agreement on the new law has been obtained for at least two years. The document in question was, again according to the point of view of the associations, "forgotten", but there is the intention to resume the discussion, provided that there is clarity and commitment by the Calabria Region. There are essentially three critical issues to be resolved.
The first is the adoption of the regional wildlife plan, while the second is the approval of the amendments to Law 9, in particular the conferral of functions relating to hunting Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria. The third criticality is that of the reorganization of the management committees of the Territorial Areas of Hunting. Finally, the coordination letter also speaks of theRegional Wildlife Observatory: associations agree that it is important, but predefined solutions will not be accepted, especially as regards competences.
