On the occasion of his presence a Ravenna as a guest at the National Unity Day, the president of the European Parliament, the Hon. David Sassoli had a private meeting with the national president of the Italian Federation of Hunting Massimo Buconi. In the long and cordial meeting, President Sassoli was exposed the most urgent hunting issues in relations between the European Union and our country, especially in terms of migratory birds, revision of key concepts and consequent sampling times of some species, strongly limited in Italy compared to other neighboring European states.
Management of large carnivores; opportunities on the subject of environmental recoveries and enhancement of biodiversity offered by the new CAP; traditional lead ammunition and other topics on the table of the European Commission were the other topics that occupied the interview. “I thank President Sassoli for his availability towards us and for the attention he has always shown for the requests expressed by the hunting world - declared the president Massimo Buconi at the end of the meeting -. It was an informal meeting, but perhaps even more so useful and constructive.
For our part, we have long been aware that the 'Europe node' is fundamental for Italian hunting and on my part and the current presidential council there will always be the utmost attention and participation, as Hunting Federation - alone and through our presence in FACE -, to all present and future processes underway in Brussels ”. The president Buconi he was accompanied on the occasion by Federcaccia managers Stefano Merighi, councilor of the presidency; Massimo Bulbi, regional president of Emilia Romagna; Dante Gianstefani, provincial president of Ravenna and the regional councilors Libero Asioli and Stefano Venieri.
