As is known, the Tar Marche has suspended in recent days with a precautionary decree monochromatic the hunting of all the species which the Region had approved the collection in days of the so-called "pre-opening", which unlike what some exponents of the anti-hunting associations would have you believe is not - it should be specified - a forcing or an illegal "gift" made to the hunting world, but a precise instrument provided and regulated by the law. Once again, in ours as in other regions, anti-hunt and animal welfare associations with a distorted, spurious and absolutely instrumental use of administrative appeals, aim and unfortunately often manage to disturb the performance of an activity that is not only legitimate and permitted, but which in the whole world, except in our increasingly strange country, is recognized as fundamental for the management and conservation of the environment, animal species and biodiversity, a source of substantial economic income for the state and a driving force for the economy of the territories.
It does not matter for WWF Italia, Lipu, Lav, Lac and Enpa, just to mention the acronyms that have appealed to the administrative judge of Ancona, whether their arguments are really founded or not. Trusting on the timing of our justice and on the ideological favor obtained in certain circles, they are satisfied and consider it a success to lose even a few days of hunting. No violation of Italian laws, no circumvention of European standards, no danger to the health of the populations of the species concerned resulted from the hunting calendar regularly and legitimately approved by the Marche Assembly. But this, the Taliban possessed of animalism cannot democratically accept it. But if they hope to bend us with appeals and handouts, it will be better if they revise their programs. We will always fight!
Unlike them we will do it with the force of reason, science and knowledge, which go to support passion, history, traditions and values that cannot be questioned by any ideology or partial world view. We gave ample proof of all this with the public assembly that took place this Wednesday in Fano: despite the adverse weather conditions, almost a thousand hunters wanted to be present at this moment of great mobilization. Compound, polite, serene but firm, as our nature has always distinguished us, contrasting us with the shouts, hysteria, lack of respect for the legality and freedom of thought of others to which the counterpart has always given ample proof, I am sure that also on this occasion we demonstrated to the president of the regional council Ceriscioli, to the company and to them how much Federcaccia and the hunting world are worth.
During that meeting, the commissioner Pieroni had announced the convocation of the regional council to approve a new resolution that would allow the pre-opening of the hunt and its regular development starting tomorrow, Sunday 1 September. This is what has been done: in the days 1-4-8-11 September it is allowed to take the following species hooded crow, magpie, jay, wood pigeon from 5,30 to 12,00 and from 17 to 19. Stay however, the pre-opening for hunting in derogation from 1 September has been confirmed with the same procedures for starling, collared dove and pigeon. Great disappointment for the lack of African turtledove and quail. We take note of the commitment made by the president Luca Ceriscioli, by the councilor Moreno Pieroni, by the councilor Federico Talè, together with the pro tempore president Marzia Malaigia and the members of the II Council Commission for the attempt to include the African turtledove.
However, let me also remind you of those who sit in the Council holding their feet in two brackets: one cannot continue to wink at animal rights activists and the hunting world. It is not possible to continue making contributions with the CRAS convention to associations that with one hand take money that hunters pay to the Region and with the other make recourse to the hunting calendars of the Region itself. Federcaccia has been denouncing the fact for some time and saying enough firmly. A clear choice of field, outside of opportunism and the search for consensus must be made. Intellectual honesty and respect for citizens require it. I conclude with a sincere "Good luck!" to the Marche hunters, accompanied by an equally heartfelt and firm call to observe the rules of the law, common sense and attention towards ourselves and others. And remember: we will always fight for what we believe in!
