Stephen Feri, number one of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago, spoke on the question of the supply chain that could transform i wild boars killed in a resource. According to the president, the park itself is the only subject that is carrying out incisive withdrawals every year, to be precise more than one thousand copies every twelve months. Furthermore, ungulates are captured or killed and their fate is better than that envisaged for the supply chain.
The activity in question has been going on for ten years now and so far it has not been possible to achieve the goal of total eradication of the species: the goal cannot be achieved even in the future, since it is not shared by those who manage and administer the rest of the territory of the Island of Elba, therefore the Tuscany Region and the various municipalities. The park's efforts alone are not enough to definitively solve the problem.
Consequently, it doesn't matter what happens to the wild boars if the situation remains the one just illustrated. The supply chain is considered by Feri as the best method to allocate to food consumption a controlled and certified product from a health point of view. The activities will be further intensified and in the coming years there will therefore be many wild boars for those who intend to do the supply chain.
