A problem that will soon become a precious resource. Dino Pepe, Councilor for Agriculture of the Abruzzo region, returned to talk about the certified supply chain of wild boar meat, a project that promises very well. This is one of the main points of the Rural Development Plan. The local authority will make available 400mila euros to finance the construction of slaughterhouses, meat processing centers, collection centers and other similar facilities.
In this way the ungulates killed during the hunt or with the selection hunt they will be sold following a series of very careful checks. The activities are all authorized by the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. Many subjects showed interest in the announcement and now the various proposals are being evaluated, the hope of the Region is that the disbursement of funds will take place by the end of 2018.
A procedure launched two years ago illustrated the procedure to be followed and the health checks necessary for the sale of the meat of hunted wild boars. The recipients may be restaurateurs or large distribution in general. The product will be numerous, as well as safe, typical and certified. A similar thing happens in the Marche and in the Sibillini Mountains National Park, we just have to follow the same example.
